Alignment of Standards
Unique to the QM Rubric critical course components, Standards 2-6, reinforce one another to ensure students achieve the desired learning outcomes. When aligned, each of these course components is directly tied to and support the learning objectives.
Rubric Scoring
The QM Rubric consists of 43 standards assigned different points related to their importance. There are 21 essential standards valued at 3 points. The 22 remaining standards are assigned 1 or 2 points. The maximum points available are 99. A score of 84 points out of 99 (or 85%), as well as meeting all 3-point essential standards, is needed for a course to be considered as having ‘MET’ the QM Standards.

When to Use the QM Rubric
To Conduct Self-Reviews - As a member of a subscribing institution, faculty can use the QM Rubric to conduct a self-review of their course with the online Self-Review Tool. This easy to use web-based tool provides an area for faculty to organize their thoughts for course design or redesign using the QM Standards. During the self-review faculty members can write recommendations about any Standards they may want to improve upon and optionally share the review with colleagues and mentors for feedback.
You must create an account to Access the Self-Review Tool through the Course Review Management System in MyQM.
