Funding available for you to make "micro" improvements to your online course.The Phoenix College Distance Learning Committee and Center for Teaching and Learning with the support of the Interim Vice President of Academic Affairs are proud to present the Phoenix College Distance Learning Excellence Mini-Grants for 2020-2021! The purpose of the Micro-Redesign Project Grant is to help faculty make manageable or “micro” improvements to their existing Distance Learning course(s), based on evidence-based practices, in order to strengthen course design or delivery. Additionally, faculty will gain transferable knowledge and skills to utilize in the future; maximizing the grant impact beyond one project or one course. Micro-Redesign Grant Areas:
Who is Eligible: All faculty (FT Residential, Short-term Residential, and Adjuncts) teaching Distance Learning courses (Online, Virtual Hybrid, or Hybrid) will be eligible (until funds run out). Applicants must be currently teaching in the semester they apply for the grant. Eligibility for funding may be limited by load hour restrictions. Although not required, we encourage you to inform your Department Chair and/or Program Director about your participation. Application Priority Deadline: November 6, 2020 is the priority deadline for the first applications. Applicants who meet this deadline will be notified on November 9, 2020 of the status of their selection. Subsequent applications will be accepted and applicants notified on an ongoing basis through April 19, 2021. Grant Completion Date: The deadline for all grant work including revisions to meet standards based upon consultation with the CTL is May 21, 2021. Scope of Grant: Upon completion of the 10-hour scope of deliverables, as outlined in the guidelines and refined in the pre-grant consultation project plan, awardees will receive a $300.00 grant.
